In 2007 Gerard Draaisma took the initiative to offer underpriviliged children and youngsters the possibility of a future with work and income with his Creaproject. Students of Friesland College and NHL Stenden provided creative workshops and sport projects for a two month period. In 2013 Creaproject won the Friesland College Award and gained a nomination for the Leeuwarder Courant Award. A number of crea members competed for the national title MBO-champion of the year. Together with old crea members Gerard recruits those youngsters and in a six month period he prepares them to be sent to Amurang and Tondano. During these preparations they are trained in the culture and in the English and Indonesian language, In the video you see the Dutch students at work.
